Attack on Titan: Colossal Winners
Attack on Titan Final won big at this year’s awards. They beat out several strong contenders for the coveted Anime of the Year but were ultimately victorious. Rock band Shinsei Kamattechan’s song “Boku no Sensou” won for Best Opening Sequence.
Once again, Eren Yeager was nominated in the Best Protagonist and Best Antagonist category but won for Best Antagonist. Eren’s Japanese voice actor, Yuki Kaji, won best VA Performance for his chilling portrayal of the fan-favorite anti-hero. Ayane Sakura, who plays Gabi Braun, was also nominated in this category.
Demon Slayer’s Big Night
ufotable scored the win for Best Animation for their buttery-smooth animation on Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. That’s quite a feat considering that their competition was against MAPPA’s dynamic work on JUJUTSU KAISEN (cour 2) and WIT STUDIO’s stunning animation on Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-, among others.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s music also brought home an award. LiSA’s song “Shirogane” during Rengoku’s tragic sendoff in the film was awarded Best Ending Sequence. Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina won for Best Score. Unsurprisingly, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train also won Best Film.
Best Boys and Girls
Fans voted for Bojji from Ranking of Kings as Best Boy, out of fellow nominees Senku Ishigami (Dr. STONE Season 2), Odokawa (ODDTAXI), Ken ‘Draken’ Ryuguji (Tokyo Revengers), Manjiro ‘Mikey’ Sano (Tokyo Revengers) and Izumi Miyamura (Horimiya). It wasn’t a total loss for Odokawa, however, as he won the award for Best Protagonist. This can be a testament to Baku Kinoshita, who won Best Director for ODDTAXI.
Best Girl was awarded to Nobara Kugisaki of JUJUTSU KAISEN (cour 2). Other nominees in this category were Vladilena Milizé (86 EIGHTY-SIX), Shoko Komi (Komi Can’t Communicate), Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket The Final Season), Sarasa Watanabe (Kageki Shojo!!) and Ai Ohto (WONDER EGG PRIORITY).

Additionally, MAPPA won Best Action for JUJUTSU KAISEN (cour 2), beating other anime titans in this category such as Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer.
