The essence of the slice-of-life style can transition quite neatly into other genres, usually producing a comedic or romantic result, although some of the Isekai adventurers have also begun to follow suit.
ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! (January 5 on Crunchyroll)
Mahiro Oyama was perfectly content spending his days emerged within his ecchi video games; however, his much-too-intelligent sister has some other plans in store. Mahiro wants her older brother to step outside his comfort zone (and maybe actually leave the house for once), and so, as a solution, she decides to perform a little experiment.
Much to Mahiro’s horror, he awakens the following day with some extra feminine features on his figure, which now resembles that of a young woman! Navigating through high school as a busty babe will surely be a hilarious learning experience indeed!
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! (January 5 on Crunchyroll)
Tomo and Jun have been friends for most of their lives, and while everything was fine and dandy to begin with, now that puberty has come into play, things are unfortunately becoming a little more complicated.

After all this time, Tomo has developed a crush on her bestie and would like to take their relationship to the next level if possible; too bad Jun considers her to be just another one of the guys, thanks to her boisterous, androgynous personality. Does Tomo have what it takes to activate her feminine charms, or is she destined to remain in the friend zone for good?
Farming Life in Another World (January 6 on HIDIVE!)
This Isekai takes a very laid-back approach to the concept of otherworldly escapades to provide a strong slice-of-life element to its content. Unlike most reincarnated adventurers, Hiraku is provided with options regarding his next life, and, avoiding the bloodshed and carnage, he opts for a nature-loving lifestyle instead.
After quite literally working himself to death, Hiraku deserves some peace and tranquility; fortunately, with his advantageous Iseaki Bonuses (a supreme multipurpose farming tool, immunity to illness, and more), life seems to be taking a turn for the better! However, his fellow supernatural forest folk may just topple the boat, eat his crops, and cause some chaos just for kicks.
Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack (January 7 on Crunchyroll)
When a sophomore can’t extract the freshman-shaped thorn in his side, frustrations reach their peak (in the most comedic ways possible!) However, the big question is: has all Nagatoro’s hard work finally paid off, and has her pesky personality finally broken the barrier encapsulating Senpai’s heart?

As an older, steamier version of Teasing Master Takagi-san, Senpai’s harem has much to boast about (and boy, do they flaunt it!) The second season of Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro even has the bonus fan-service feature of an iconic bunny girl (thanks to the stern Sana Sunomiya, no less!)
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible (January 10 on HIDIVE!)
The rather forgettable Junta Shiraishi is used to fading into the background and being left to his own devices, which doesn’t seem to phase him that much, although things can get rather lonely at times. Thankfully, his self-declared heroine is here to save the day, as the class goddess, Kubo, is always eager to give Junta some well-deserved attention at every opportunity.
While their relationship starts off with the typical affectionate mockery, it becomes quite evident that a romance is slowly blossoming between the unlikely pair. Junta’s invisibility cloak begins to slip off as the rest of the world finally begins to notice (and appreciate) his presence.
A Galaxy Next Door (Crunchyroll)
Ichiro Kuga has a huge burden to bear as the sole provider for his younger siblings since their parents’ untimely demise, while the creative career of a mangaka is not as prosperous as he had hoped. The technophobe is stuck hand-drawing his creations while his assistants keep quitting on him, and things are looking truly bleak until a breath of fresh air blesses Ichiro with her presence.

The newcomer’s incredible artistic skills blow Ichiro away (while her breathtaking beauty has a very similar effect.) The fact that this stranger seems a bit too familiar with the intimate details of her employer’s life is overlooked at first but becomes harder to ignore as the days roll by.
Insomniacs After School (Crunchyroll)
This seinen romance slice of life follows two sleep-deprived students who meet by chance in the forsaken school observatory one day, finally finding a companion to watch the sunrise with after another all-nighter.
The usually grumpy Ganta can’t help but crack a smile whenever he is around the zealous, excitable Isaki, and his whole world is turned on its head as he stumbles into this whirlwind late-night romance. The insomniacs soon learn that their sleeplessness may not always be a curse, particularly when there is someone else around to share the twilight with.
The Dangers in My Heart (Crunchyroll)
Kyotaro Ichikawa is a Chuunibyou of sorts (with the appropriately cool contacts to prove it!), believing himself to be the primary victim of a psychological thriller storyline, subsequently emanating creepy stalker vibes as a result.

Although Kyotaro spends most of his time daydreaming or with his nose in a book, he somehow still manages to capture the attention of his crush, the most popular girl in his class, miss Anna Yamada. As it turns out, the picture-perfect paramour has some secrets of her own, and the dubious couple may have more in common than first appearances dictate.
Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence (Crunchyroll)
According to the townsfolk, the stunning Saint Cecilia can do no wrong, and they aren’t mistaken, for the most part (except for what happens behind closed doors!) However, the perfect role model loses all composure whenever the dashing Lawrence is around and is clearly smitten with the Pastor, whose naivety leaves him completely oblivious to Cecilia’s advances.
As traditions dictate, the pair end up living under the same roof within the walls of the local church, and boundaries are pushed to breaking point, despite Cecilia’s best efforts to behave. Never mind the “will they, won’t they” trope, but rather, should they?
Sometime in 2023:
The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today
Saku’s relationship with a stray cat is nothing like she expected, as she somehow scored an oversized cooking and cleaning enthusiast out of the deal. Although Saku’s life may be a catastrophic mess, at least Yukichi is around to keep things in order; just don’t expect service with a smile!
The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149
The classic Cinderella tale gets a new lease on life, although a rather downsized version, as all these leading ladies barely reach 149 centimeters in height (4 ft, 11 in.) The girls refuse to allow their short statures to impede their dreams of becoming celebrated pop idols, each adding their own unique flair to the IDOLM@STER franchise.
Opus.COLORs
A breathtaking dive into the world of art follows the young prodigy, Kazuya Yamanashi, and his childhood friend, Jun Tsuzuki, as they explore the intricacies of “Perception Art” (and their complex relationship, too). An old companion, Kyo Takise, also happens to be attending the same art school, and the yaoi storyline gets even more complicated as their worlds collide.
