21 Human Trafficking Victims Including 2 Minors Rescued In Kentucky Sting Operation
Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phillip Burnett Jr. said there is “more to do” in combatting human trafficking in the state. Law enforcement have utilized undercover sting operations to carry out both rescues and arrests. Burnett explained that part of undercover operations involve officers arranging meetings with suspected victims to rescue them, or posing as victims to arrest traffickers or customers. “Kentucky law enforcement has sent a message to those involved in human trafficking, that we will not tolerate such and we will be vigilant in finding those who prey upon our most vulnerable, especially our children,” Burnett said at the statehouse news conference....
